description This 1080 acre site is within sight of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO. The park features two lakes with a combined water surface of 208 acres and 5 miles of shoreline. Fishing and boating are both popular pastimes in the park. There is a 10 h.p. limit on boat motors. In addition, the park contains the Grand Marais Golf Course, an 18 hole championship course. The golf course clubhouse dining room is an attractive location for lunch and dinner. Gatherings of up to 275 can be accommodated. Call (618) 398-9999 for more clubhouse information. Picnic shelters are available, as well as playgrounds and sports facilities. There is no overnght camping.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. Park hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (except Lighthouse Restaurant and Grand Marais Golf Course Clubhouse). Site staff hours and days are: May 1 through October 31- Monday through Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. November 1 through April 30- Monday through Friday (except holidays) 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Grand Marais East, Grand Marais West & The Court picnic shelters must be vacated by 9:00 p.m. every night. Area is open: May 1 through October 31- when picnic shelters are reserved or as needed, to be determined by site staffAlcohol is allowed in areas of the park west of Whispering Willow Lake and north of I-255 (see park map). In all other areas of the park, possession or consumption of alcohol is prohibited. Groups of 25 or more are required to register in advance at the site office. Picnic shelters are available for rent May 1 through October 31. Prior approval from the site office must be obtained for rentals outside these dates. See the posted IDNR Section 110 Administrative Rules for additional park regulations. Pony rides, water amusements, swimming pools, garden hoses, etc. are prohibited. Other amusements (inflatable bounce houses, etc.) or variances from park rules require an activity permit that is available from the site office.
